Day 1 – Palmeiras – Guiné / Gerais do Rio Preto / Rampa Lookout / Ruinha / Funis River Waterfalls / Casa dos Nativos;
On the first day, we will travel from the municipalities of Lençóis or Palmeiras to the village of Guiné. In Guiné, we will start the trail from a drop of approximately 180 m, known as Aleixo. We will soon reach the highlands of Gerais do Rio Preto, bathed by the river of the same name, which we will cross next. After crossing the Rio Preto, we will come across the beautiful view from the Pati Lookout, a recommended place to take photos and admire the view. After an explanation about the local geography, history and geology, we will go down the Rampa that gives us access to Ruinha, today popularly known as Igrejinha. At Igrejinha, we will have a snack, and we will also see the structure that for a long time was the main chapel of Pati, where the residents of the Valley gathered for mass. After the visit and snack, we will go down the Funis River towards the 3 waterfalls that run through its bed. After a nice bath in the main waterfall, which bears the river’s name, we will head towards the overnight stay at the accommodation selected for the occasion.
